Vigils held for Trumbull Garden shooting victims

Residents who attended the vigils say their message is very simple - they want the violence to stop.

BRIDGEOPORT - Family and friends of the Trumbull Garden shooting victims held several vigils in Bridgeport Thursday to pray for the victims and call for an end to gun violence.

People gathered to pray at St. Vincent's Medical Center and Bridgeport Hospital.

And dozens more lit candles outside the Trumbull Gardens apartments.

Residents who attended the vigils say their message is very simple - they want the violence to stop.

They are also calling for the police and community leaders to come together to make the streets of Bridgeport safer.

Residents also want anyone who has information about the shooting to come forward.

Organizers say they also hope that anyone with information about the shooters will hear their message and come forward.
