WESTPORT - Despite today's rain, more than 50 volunteers in Westport helped build a playground to honor one of the victims of the Newtown shooting.

The playground at Long Lots Elementary School is dedicated to Dylan Hockley and is part of a larger initiative called the Sandy Ground Project. Jake Hockley, Dylan's 8-year-old brother, served as foreman for the playground being built.

The Hockley family helped pick the location for Dylan's playground, and the crews plan to finish building it tomorrow.

It is one of 26 similar playgrounds being built in the tri-state region. That is one for each of the victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting.

Organizers say the total cost of the initiative is $3 million, and they've raised about a third of that.
