Voter turnout solid for Bridgeport primary

BRIDGEPORT - It's Primary Day in Bridgeport and the marquee race is for the office of mayor.

Incumbent Mayor Bill Finch and challenger Mary Jane Foster are facing off in hopes of gaining the Democratic nomination.

Both sides say that jobs is the No. 1 issue for the city.

Both Finch and Foster say they believe they have what it takes to win voter confidence.

There are just under 50,000 registered Democrats in the city of Bridgeport and the candidates say turnout has been solid.

Voting locations opened at 6 a.m. and will be open until 8 p.m.
