NEW YORK - Donnie Walsh will not return as president of the New YorkKnicks, who must find someone else to continue the building job hestarted.
The Knicks say in a statement Friday that Walsh and MadisonSquare Garden chairman James Dolan have mutually agreed that Walshwill not return when his contract expires at the end of June.
Walsh spent three seasons in New York, leading a massiverebuilding job that got the team back into the playoffs this seasonfollowing the acquisitions of Amare Stoudemire and Carmelo Anthony.
The Knicks say Walsh will be a consultant next season. Seniorvice president Glen Grunwald will serve as interim general manager.
