STAMFORD - Aquarion officials say water is back up and running for the residents and businesses affected by this morning's water main break in Stamford.

The break happened at the intersection of Shippan Avenue and Harbor Drive overnight, turning the street into a river and the morning commute into an ordeal for drivers. Some residents were able to get water rerouted to them during the repair, but everyone else was left without water until this afternoon.

Around 600 residents and half-a-dozen businesses were left without water after the break.
