BRIDGEPORT - A water main break in Bridgeport Wednesday morning tied up traffic and left about 30 homes without water.

Main Street was closed from Frank Street to Madison Avenue and traffic was diverted.

Exit 3 on the Route 8/25 connector was closed most of the morning while crews worked to repair the pipe. Officials say the broken piece of the water main has been replaced.

A supervisor at Aquarion told News 12 Connecticut the water pipe probably broke because it is more than 80 years old.
