STAMFORD - The Stamford School District held emergency counseling sessions today at the Yerwood Center in an effort to help students cope with the loss of a Westhill High School junior who apparently took her own life on Thursday.

Asia Dunmore, 16, was found dead in her home on Stillwater Avenue. Friends and family held a vigil there Friday night.

Friends of the teen say she was well-accepted by her peers and that she was not bullied in school.

Details surrounding her death have not been released.

School officials say counseling will be available for students and staff throughout the coming week.
