STAMFORD - Westhill High School students in Stamford learned healthy cooking and eating habits today as part of 2016 Farm-to-Chef Week, which showcases Connecticut-grown ingredients. 

The Farm-to-Chef program helps connect chefs with schools to teach the students healthier ways to eat.

Chefs say they specifically go to schools like Westhill that have their own gardens.

Officials say the district's food services provider hosted a chef's table with live cooking demonstrations using organic produce from Westhill's school community garden.

Officials say it's an important part of the students' education.

Davenport Ridge Elementary School in Stamford is also participating in Farm-to-Chef week.
