WESTPORT PRESS RELEASE ON COMMUTE CHANGES:
Continuing on Tuesday, May 21, Metro-North will be running limited service from the Westport (Saugatuck) train station to points west. There is no train service from Greens Farms station. Commuters should check the MTA website frequently for updates.
Connecticut DOT will operate shuttle buses from Bridgeport with stops at Fairfield Metro and Fairfield train stations with Westport as the terminus. Metro-North and Connecticut DOT expect that there will be significantly more riders on both the trains and buses on Tuesday. It is highly recommended that commuters allow adequate time to arrive at their destination.
Commuters should be aware that trains may arrive on more than one track. MTA officials will again be on site to help direct passengers to the correct platform.
IMPORTANT TRAFFIC PATTERN CHANGES FOR MAY 21:
- Railroad Place will be used for shuttle bus drop-off and pickup only. Use Ferry Line for drop-offs if you are driving. Again, trains may be on either side - it does not matter where you are dropped off. This includes passenger pickups in the evening - Ferry Lane is the designated pickup location.
- Lot #2, located at the west end of Railroad Place adjacent to the NY-bound tracks, will be closed to commuter parking until 9 a.m. This is to allow for the staging of MTA shuttle buses used to bring riders in and out of the Saugatuck station. There will be no parking in this lot until after 9 a.m.
- Westport transit riders should check the Norwalk Transit District website for the most current information on commuter shuttle buses in Westport. At this time, no shuttle service is anticipated at Green Farms as there is no train service to or from that station.
