WESTPORT - Westport police say they will continue the investigation into the murder of a jeweler after the suspect killed himself.

A Spanish justice official says Andrew Levene, 41, hanged himself in his jail cell using a sheet.

Levene was arrested in Spain earlier this week and was awaiting extradition for the murder of Yekutiel Zeevi in December.

Police say Levene killed Zeevi while stealing $300,000 in diamonds from his store.

Westport police now want some answers from Spanish officials.
