Westport police branch out to find jeweler murder suspect

Westport police say they are taking new steps in their search for the suspected killer of a jeweler two weeks ago. Police say a gunman

WESTPORT - Westport police say they are taking new steps in their search for the suspected killer of a jeweler two weeks ago. Police say a gunman killed Yekutiel Zeevi, 65, on Dec. 8 at YZ Jewelers. Still hunting for a suspect, they say they have reached out to the television show "America's Most Wanted" to bring national attention to the case. "We are working with them to get this particular incident and the images sent to a nationwide broadcast," says Westport Police Capt. Sam Arciola. Police say the suspect targeted Zeevi and his business associate, and that the three of them had an appointment to buy and sell diamonds the night of the murder. Investigators say leads have already directed them to other states. Anyone with information is urged to call Westport police at 203-341-6008.
