WESTPORT - An old-school record store in Westport is going out of business after nearly three decades of bringing music to its customers.
Sally’s Place, which has stood on Main Street for 27 years, has offered a variety of different music. Passersby always hear jazz music playing from outside.
Sally White, the owner of the record store, says she will be closing up shop by the end of the summer because so many of her clients are now purchasing music from the Internet. She says closing Sally’s Place was a difficult decision because this is her one true passion.
White has had many visitors who wanted one last nostalgic look. Clients say it will be tough to say goodbye to what they call a musical institution.
While her customers will miss the classic way of picking up their music, they say it's White's character that has always carried the highest tune.
