WESTPORT - Some residents in Westport are criticizing Gov. Dannel Malloy's (D-Conn.) proposal to tax non-prescription drugs.

Customers at Colonial Druggists say they don't think it is fair to tax residents for non-prescription drugs, such as cold and flu medicines.

One resident pointed out how the proposal could negatively affect seniors on a limited or fixed income.

The Legislature still has to approve the governor's proposal before it can go into effect.

Tax exemptions may be on chopping block
