WESTPORT - Parents whose children attend programs at the Westport-Weston YMCA will need to look for new child care soon, as the YMCA is in the process of moving to Camp Mahackeno.

Parents say they received a letter last week telling them the program might be canceled. YMCA officials say they will have to suspend the program, at least on a temporary basis, when phase one of the move takes effect.

YMCA officials say they're looking to find a temporary solution. The deadline to find an alternative site is Jan. 1.

"The Y is talking to parents and looking for opportunities to continue the program with its real estate team," YMCA CEO Rob Reeves said in a statement.
