NORWALK - This week's "What's Ailing You" focuses on what arrangements you can make for yourself and your loved ones to ease the later years of life.

Maura Carley, author of a "New York Times" bestseller, says you can hire someone yourself or go through an agency to get an aging loved one help with daily tasks. Carley says there are cases when medical insurance will cover the cost of a short-term home health aide, such as after a hospital stay.

If all options are unavailable, then a person may be eligible for Medicaid. Carley says the key is to plan ahead, which may mean investing in a long-term care insurance policy with coverage for home health aides.
