FAIRFIELD - Doctors say there are ways people can protect themselves from getting repeat hernias.

News 12 Connecticut Health Reporter Gillian Neff spoke with Dr. Michael Schwartz, who works at Darien-based Soundview Medical about recurring hernias.

Dr. Schwartz says people need to avoid heavy lifting in life and at the gym. He says losing weight is also helpful in the fight against hernias.
