NORWALK - Doctors in some medical circles say natural remedies are an ideal way to treat certain conditions.

Dr. Jared Skowron, who relies on naturopathic treatment, suggests herbal or over-the-counter supplements are a pharmaceutical-safe way to relieve stress, induce sleep and cure a variety of other ailments.

Similarly, Dr. Lisa Laughlin refers her patients to melatonin before bed. "Melatonin is something we make naturally in the brain, but after 40, that part of the brain calcifies and we don't make our own natural sleep hormone," she says.
