DARIEN - This week, News 12 Connecticut's What's Ailing You looks at tennis elbow.

According to doctors, this kind of pain can come from various sports and activities - not just playing tennis.

Dr. Michael Schwartz, of Darien-based Soundview Medical, says there are therapies that may help. For some patients, icing the inflamed area and anti-inflammatories can help.

Another product that may help is "tennis elbow bands," which are sold at local pharmacies. The bands put pressure just below the elbow to take stress off the attachment where the muscle comes into the elbow, reducing symptoms.
