Wilton man killed in crash

BRIDGEPORT - Police are investigating the cause of a crash that killed a Wilton man Sunday.

Nick Zinicola, 29, died when his car went off the road and slammed into a rock wall on the northbound side of Route 25 near the intersection of Route 111.

Police say they're not sure what caused the car to go off the road, but speed may have been a factor. State troopers say the airbag went off, but Zinicola was not wearing a seat belt.

An autopsy was scheduled for Monday, but results were not available.

Detectives are looking for people who may have seen Zinicola's 1996 blue Audi on the road before the accident. Anyone with information should call police at 203-261-3665.
