WILTON - Petitions are circulating around Wilton proposing for the town to have its own liquor stores.

Residents say the last time liquor stores were allowed in town was in 1934.

The last time voters could decide on the issue was 1992. They rejected the proposal for liquor stores but allowed liquor in restaurants.

The petition will be placed on the November ballot if it gains 1,200 signatures.
