Wilton residents warned of roadside mailbox tampering

WILTON - Wilton police are warning residents to look out for unusual activity around roadside mailboxes after residents reported finding mail strewn throughout the Mountain Road section of the town.

Neighbors say they found parcels that had already been delivered spewed out across several streets near Mountain Road and Nob Hill Road.

It isn't the first time Wilton has had trouble with mail tampering. This past summer, a Chinese national was arrested after police say he broke into mailboxes and stole dozens of checks from residents.

Police say it is unclear what, if anything, is missing.
