STRATFORD - Stratford fire officials say a home heating oil delivery truck rolled over into a busy intersection, spilling about a hundred gallons of oil into the street.
The Winslow Oil tanker truck was heading westbound on Broadbridge Avenue when it toppled over at the intersection at Second Hill Lane.
Officials say the truck was carrying about 2,800 gallons of No. 2 home heating oil. Hazmat and fire crews were on the scene of the spill, pouring sand and blocking storm drains.
Officials say a cleanup contractor was called to pump the remaining oil out of the tanker truck before it could be up-righted.
The driver of the truck told News 12 that he was checked out by medical personnel and did not need to go to the hospital.
