STAMFORD - A woman is facing charges after Stamford police say she lied about being kidnapped and sexually assaulted.

Officials say Mercedes Irizarry, 25, told police her ex-boyfriend and another person kidnapped her at knife point last month, then kept her in an apartment on Ursula Street overnight.

Investigators say Irizarry's ex-boyfriend was deported two years ago, and they found video of her at the time she said she was being held hostage.

Irizarry is charged with falsely reporting an incident and interfering with police.
