STAMFORD - A 28-year-old woman is recovering in the hospital this evening after police say her boyfriend assaulted her.

Police say Jorge Duarte, 26, hit his girlfriend in the head with a kitchen chair because she danced with another man at a local club.

Duarte is being held on $50,000 bond and is expected to face a judge tomorrow morning.
