STAMFORD - ? Police say a Stamford man whose tongue was bitten off as he tried to sexually assault a woman last night is now undergoing a psychological evaluation. The alleged attempted assault happened last night as a woman was leaving Saint John's Church at around 10 p.m.

The woman says 46-year-old Gerard Michael Landon asked her for a hug and then pushed her down into some flowers, began to kiss her and stuck his tongue in her mouth. That's when police say she bit a large portion of the man's tongue off. Police say they have a substantial amount of the man's tongue that they are holding as evidence.
