WOODBRIDGE - State and local officials today offered a reminder for people to not leave their pets inside hot cars during the warmer months.

They put a sign outside of the Woodbridge Town Hall to let everyone know "Heat kills."

State House Republican Leader Themis Klarides says there are many awareness campaigns to avoid leaving children in hot cars, but many people forget to apply the same logic for their pets.

Many communities around southwestern Connecticut have launched similar campaigns, including the town of Fairfield.
