MILFORD - Milford veterans took part in a nationwide event Saturday called Wreaths Across America.

Veterans laid wreaths at Milford?s Veterans Circle simultaneously as 350 similar ceremonies were taking place around the United States to honor those who have served in the armed forces. The event was first held 15 years ago, when the non-profit Wreaths Across America placed wreaths on headstones at Arlington National Cemetery during the holiday season.

The event spread to local ceremonies, including Milford. In total, 100,000 wreaths were laid out Saturday throughout the U.S. Milford's wreath ceremony was hosted by the Freelove Baldwin Stow Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
