A TikTok star from Norwalk donated $50,000 to Norwalk Hospital amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Charli D'Amelio, 15, has over 50 million followers since starting her account on the app in June 2019. She is currently the most followed person on TikTok.
She is also the creator of the social distance dance, and when Proctor and Gamble asked what charity she wanted to donate money to, she chose Norwalk Hospital.
The money will help secure critical supplies for the hospital's staff during the crisis. The hospital says another local family will match the donation.
D'Amelio has been on the "Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon" and is rumored to be involved in a reality show. Her sister, Dixie, has 20 million followers on TikTok.
