A firefighter was injured while battling a fire this morning at a three-story home in Stamford. Eight people have been displaced, officials say.
The fire broke out at a home on Shippan and Seaview avenues around 2 a.m.
Officials say a firefighter was injured due to a fall and is expected to be OK. The firefighter was brought to Stamford Hospital and later released.
Fire spread to an apartment building next to the multifamily home. Residents were evacuated as a precaution.
The fire only caused minor damage to the neighboring apartment building but destroyed the multifamily home. Officials say the home is likely a total loss.
Officials say the fire was extinguished a short time later.
