Tests taken on a patient at Yale-New Haven Hospital came back negative for Ebola.
The hospital issued a statement saying the person was admitted late Wednesday night.
A city official confirmed that the patient is one of two students at Yale University who had recently returned from Liberia and went into voluntary isolation. The official says the student had a fever that spiked Wednesday.
The student reportedly called their doctor, and emergency responders brought the patient to Yale-New Haven.
News 12 Connecticut has learned that the patient is in stable condition, and has improved since being admitted. The patient remains in isolation and is being closely monitored.
Doctors expect to have the complete test results back within 24 hours. They say they are limiting the number of doctors and nurses who treat the patient.
They are also reaching out to people who may have come in contact with the patient.
Yale officials initially said that the student researchers did not have any contact with anyone who had Ebola. They announced Thursday, however, that they in fact did encounter one person who was not symptomatic at the time, but eventually contracted the virus.
