Pleasure Beach, Cove Island Park to open this weekend

Bridgeport Mayor Bill Finch and Stamford Mayor David Martin visited local beaches Friday to kick off the summer season.

CONNECTICUT - Bridgeport Mayor Bill Finch and Stamford Mayor David Martin visited local beaches Friday to kick off the summer season.

Pleasure Beach and the barrier island in Bridgeport will open up this weekend for the first time since its closure 20 years ago.

The first water taxi will take off Saturday at 10 a.m.

Cove Island Park in Stamford will also open for the season this weekend.
