Police ID suspect in Uniondale knifepoint home invasion
Police have identified the suspect who is accused of threatening a boy with a knife during a home invasion in Uniondale.
Police say Gregory Davidson, 43, of Uniondale, entered a home on Southern Parkway through an unlocked door just before 7 a.m. Sunday.
Police say Davidson went into a bedroom and grabbed the 9-year-old boy and took him into the basement while holding a knife to his neck.
In the basement, police say, was the boy's mother. Davidson is accused of trying to sexually attack her.
Police say Davidson took off when the victim's husband woke up. Davidson was caught a short time later in a nearby backyard.
A family member told News 12 the boy is traumatized from the incident.
Police say Davidson is also responsible for two other incidents that morning, the attempted purse snatching of a woman and trying to break into another house.
A judge set Davidson's bond at $500,000.
