Connecticut State Police say a man is dead following a fight Thursday night in Bridgeport.
State troopers say they received a 911 call at around 11:30 p.m. from someone who saw two people fighting outside their cars on the exit 5 ramp off the southbound side of Route 8. They say they also got a call from a person who claimed to be involved in a fight with another man and needed help.
Police say one man left the scene and went to Lindley Street, while the other person remained on the ramp with severe injuries. They say the man who left the scene claims he feared for his life, which is why he waited until he got about a half-mile away from the crime scene before calling 911. He was questioned by police, but has not been charged.
The injured man was later pronounced dead at St. Vincent's Medical Center. Police identified the victim as 26-year-old Bryant Kelly.
Police are asking any witnesses to come forward and give them a call. They say it is still not clear what led to the fight.
