A man was found dead on a burning boat docked at a storage yard in Red Hook early Saturday morning, police say.
Officials say the boat was found engulfed in flames on Conover Street. The man was deceased when the NYPD arrived at the scene just before 5 a.m.
A crime scene unit, the medical examiner and a fire investigation squad were seen there during the morning.
The owner of Sunny's Bar, a business across the street, made a 911 call reporting the incident.
"I woke up just before 5 a.m. and I kind of saw a flicker. I turned around and it was a full-on blaze in the lot,” said Tone Balzano Johansen. “I immediately called 911."
The identity of the man is currently unknown. Fire marshals are investigating the cause of the fire.
