Police say a man was found with a gunshot wound to the head in a driveway in Bridgeport early Monday.

They say the shooting happened just after 1:30 a.m. at 684 Bishop Ave. When officers arrived at the scene, they say they found the 41-year-old victim.

Officials say the man died at the scene. The family has identified him as Anthony McKinstry.

A family friend told News 12 the victim, originally from Stamford, lived in North Carolina and was visiting his friend in the area when he was killed.

It is unknown at the time what led to the shooting.

This shooting marks the ninth homicide in Bridgeport this year.
