Ridgefield police say a 57-year-old man who went missing on Sunday has been found dead.

They say Jack Gordon was last seen around 4:45 p.m. leaving his residence to walk in the Bennetts Pond State Park trails.

Ridgefield police and fire were assisted by emergency medical units from surrounding towns, as well as the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, to search for Gordon.

Officers say after about 18 hours of actively searching the area with the help of K-9’s, drones and air support, Gordon was found deceased.

Capt. Jeff Raines says they have no further information at this time, but the case will remain under investigation by DEEP and the Connecticut State Medical Examiner's Office.
