Residents excited for opening of new bridge

Plenty of residents told News 12 Friday night that they are excited for the opening of the Gov. Mario M. Cuomo Bridge set to replace the Tappan Zee Bridge.
Dan Goldfein and Charles Anselmo will be one of the first motorcyclists going over the new span. They say they're especially jazzed about experiencing a smooth ride on a brand-new road.
What could make the opening more special for some is that this could be the only bridge in many people's lifetimes for which they witnessed construction from start to finish.
Westchester-bound traffic will remain on the old span for two to three months. During that time, crews will continue working on the landing. And after that, Westchester traffic will then move onto the northern span of the new bridge.
