Police have released surveillance video of a man they say held an 84-year-old woman hostage with a knife inside her Bronx home.
It happened on East 209th Street and Hull Avenue on Monday around 10:15 a.m.
Police say the woman was walking home from church when the man pushed her inside her apartment.
Police say once inside, the man pulled out a knife and choked her.
Police say the man stayed inside the apartment for over two hours.
The woman made her escape after offering to make the intruder a sandwich.
She suffered injuries to her neck and hip, but refused medical treatment, according to police.
Police say the suspect stole $300 and a bottle of brandy.
