Members of the Highbridge community haven't had the easiest access to their councilwoman, City Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito.
Many Bronx residents living in the neighborhood had to travel to her offices in East Harlem or Mott Haven to get help from the speaker.
Now Mark-Viverito is making an effort to cater to their needs, holding constituent hours once a week at the Woodycrest Center for Human Development on 165th Street.
The speaker is holding the office hours every Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and she says the response from residents has been very positive.
