NY firefighters meet their bone marrow recipients

After donating bone marrow years ago, two New York City firefighters met the recipients of their donation for the first time Friday.
Jonathan Ragland, a 35-year-old father of two from Kentucky, was diagnosed with myelofibrosis in 2006. Fredrick Perdue, of Engine Company 67, made the donation that saved his life.
"It gives me the opportunity to actually see my kids grow up, so that's one thing I do very much appreciate," Ragland said.
Perdue said it just felt like the right thing to do at the time.
"I'm always willing to help somebody so that's all that went through my mind," Perdue said.
Firefighter Michael Wilson, of Ladder Company 166 in Brooklyn, met 47-year old Amy Alcorn, of Pennsylvania.
"I'm very honored and blessed," Alcorn said of the opportunity to meet her bone marrow donor.
Both firefighters said they would donate again in a heartbeat.
