A memorial ceremony was held at NYPD headquarters Thursday to honor 19 fallen officers.
The names of the officers were added to the memorial wall as they enter 1 Police Plaza. Three of the officers were killed in the line of duty, and 16 died due to 9/11 issues.
Among those honored was Detective Joseph Lemm. The officer from the Bronx was killed in December in a suicide bombing while serving with the Air National Guard in Afghanistan. He was on leave from the NYPD.
Also on the list is Detective Randolph Holder from Brooklyn. He was shot and killed in East Harlem in October while responding to reports of shots fired. Detective Brian Moore was also honored. Moore died after being shot to death in May while patrolling in an unmarked police car in Queens.
