Thousands of bees swarm Bronx condo complex
Residents in Morrisania say they are breathing easier Wednesday after the NYPD dismantled a swarm of bees in the area.
Officials say tens of thousands of bees made the parking lot of the Nehemiah Condominiums their home.
A team called to the swarm quickly determined it could be a hazard and dispatched a beekeeper to get rid of the bees.
The beekeeper sprayed sugar water to keep them in a tight cluster while he suctioned them into a box.
The beekeeper says Mother's Day marked the beginning of swarming season. He says he will take the box of bees upstate, where he will release them into a hive.
