Residents advised to be safe when barbecuing in parks

Officials want to remind everyone to be safe when barbecuing on Memorial Day.
Residents who plan to barbecue at city parks must only grill in designated barbecue areas. The barbecue must be set up at least 10 feet away from any trees to lessen the chance of fires.
Used charcoal should be thrown into a tin bin and not onto the ground.
Residents are also not allowed to grill on the beach or use propane tanks.
Breaking these rules could result in a $50 fine.
