Local artists, designers featured during Bronx Fashion Week
Bronx Fashion Week kicks off this week, giving new local designers a platform to show off their work.
The show began yesterday at the Bronx Museum.
Organizers featured the work of three Bronx designers, bringing a mix of futuristic and high-end fashion to the show.
Charly Dominguez, a Bronx artist of 12 years, produced body art for part of a tribalism theme where he painted models to show people that fashion goes beyond clothing.
Proceeds from the show will go to the American Cancer Society.
Bronx Fashion Week will also have its first children's fashion showcase at the Bay Plaza Mall on Aug. 19.
