Police: Family lied about 18-year-old daughter being abducted by husband
Police say a Bronx family lied to authorities about their 18-year-old daughter being forcibly taken by her husband.
Police say Shaneeza Sumad's mother and cousin filed a report claiming that the teen got into a fight with her husband on Tuesday. They say he forcibly took Sumad from her parents' East 172nd Street home.
Investigators say Sumad was found unharmed and in good health with her husband.
News 12 has been told that the family members filed a false report because they don't like Sumad's husband.
Police say that 42-year-old Bibi Samad and 18-year-old Bibi Razak have been placed under arrest, as a result of the false report.
