Police: 3 dead in 3 separate Bronx shootings
Police say one woman and two men were killed in three separate shootings in the Bronx Saturday night.
Police say Jessica White was fatally shot near the playground of the John Adams Houses on Westchester Avenue around 11 p.m.
According to White's mother, a man with a ski mask approached the area and the 29-year-old was shielding her young children when she was struck by a stray bullet. She was taken to Lincoln Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
White's mother says the bullet was not meant for her daughter.
Less than an hour later, police say a second shooting at 903 Rogers Ave. killed 31-year-old Eric Oliver. They say he was shot in the head and his body was discovered lying beside his wheelchair.
Police say a 32-year-old man was also fatally shot on Monroe Avenue. The victim, who has not yet been identified, was taken to Bronx Lebanon Hospital with multiple gunshot wounds but was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Police say the three shootings happened within two hours, but it is not known if the shootings are related.
