Mourners in the Bronx community came together Monday to stand in solidarity with the victims of the Orlando, Florida shooting and to denounce the violence.
Many of the attendees were Muslims. The mourners lit candles to show their support and remember the 49 people killed during a shooting attack at a gay nightclub in Orlando.
President Barack Obama said the shooter's actions were "a product of homegrown terrorism."
Authorities have also said that the shooter pledged his allegiance to the Islamic State group.
Some government leaders attributed the shooting to radical Islamic terrorism, but Muslims who attended the vigil said they don't want to be looked down upon or called "terrorists" for someone else's actions.
