Protesters rally against rising rents

Hundreds of protesters rallied outside the Bronx Museum of the Arts Thursday evening during a hearing on the rising cost of rent.
Inside, a nine-person board appointed by the city met for the third time to discuss the issue. A final vote is expected at a later date.
The protesters, most of them living in rent-stabilized apartments or on fixed retirement incomes, say they can't afford to pay higher rent.
"It's ridiculous," says Damaris Duclose. "The neighborhood is not safe. The buildings are not clean. But they want to raise the rent. I don't think that's fair."
