Free mental health program changes 6-year-old's life
A free mental health program started by the Visiting Nurse Service of New York has partnered up with five Bronx schools to help children with emotional concerns.
The Promise Zone Program has already changed the life of Sincere Scott, a 6-year-old at P.S. 100.
Sincere had a severe meltdown in class and was referred to the program. After spending eight weeks in the program, Sincere is now a success story as his behavior and his relationship with his family has improved.
"I'm very thankful because he was on thin ice before he was sent to this program. His behavior was up and down and he was giving teachers a hard time. This program improved his behavior," says Sincere's father, Jamall Scott.
Sincere graduated from the program but will continue to go to support sessions at the Visiting Nurse Service of New York clinic.
