Stamford teen diagnosed with tuberculosis

Officials say a student at Westhill High School in Stamford was infected with tuberculosis.

Letters were sent from the school to parents informing them of the situation.

The letter says their child may have been exposed to TB and that the school will provide skin testing for students if desired.

City health officials emphasize that the risk of other students contracting the respiratory disease is extremely low.

The bacteria spreads through the air and attacks the lungs.
